Loyola University Chicago, Wellness Center
Chicago, Illinois
The Wellness Center at Loyola University Chicago provides primary care, preventative services and wellness programming for students at the University. The project includes the complete reconfiguration of the 3rd floor of the Granada Center at Loyola’s Lakeshore Campus. The 11,350 square-foot space now includes 7 exam rooms, 10 mental health offices, a clinical station with 9 workstations and medicine dispensary area, a laboratory, a group therapy room, a multipurpose room with “smart classroom” capabilities, multiple office suites for administrative, health promotion and medical staff and a variety of support spaces. Nevin Hedlund Architects worked closely with the Wellness Center staff to meet the specialized requirements of the Center, especially with regards to equipment and specific millwork and storage needs. Additionally, Nevin Hedlund Architects developed detailed layouts of the exam rooms to ensure the selected medical equipment would fit and function properly.
