We are currently involved in several projects which are at a variety of stages, from the master planning phase to nearing completion of construction. Some of our recent projects include:

Marion Street Cheese Market
Nevin Hedlund Architects designed the new and recently relocated Marion Street Cheese Market. Located at 100 S. Marion Street in Oak Park, Illinois, and now three times larger, the shop includes a cheese and wine market, a café with a full-service kitchen and a deli. The design of the new facility includes rich finishes, an attention to detail, varied and specific lighting and the incorporation of products from local artisans.

Madison Highlands
Madison Highlands, a four-story retail/office condominium development located in Oak Park, combines sustainability with Class "A" office space and prime retail opportunities in the heart of Oak Park. The 74,000 square foot development, located at 303 West Madison Street in Oak Park, is expected to be LEED Silver certified, allowing tenants to experience a healthier and more energy-efficient environment.

Congregation Or Shalom

Lakeside Congregation for Reform Judaism
We are currently working on a master plan for the Lakeside Congregation for Reform Judaism located on Lake Cook Road in Highland Park, Illinois. The master plan will study options for renovation and addition to the existing facility as well as long-range goals of the congregation.

Merit School of Music
This project involves the renovation of an existing television studio in the Merit School of Music. The new school includes modern classrooms, many practice rooms, spacious office space and a formal recital hall. Merit is a not-for-profit music school serving young people in the Chicago area. This project was completed in June 2005.

Naperville Development - Naperville, Illinois
We are currently in the design phase of a mixed-use development in downtown Naperville. This project is new construction and will include retail spaces on the first level, two levels of parking and four levels of luxury condominiums.

Rockefeller Chapel Renovation
We are currently in the design phase for renovation of the Inter-Religious Meditation and Prayer Center at the University of Chicago's Rockefeller Chapel. The project will provide space for numerous University of Chicago campus ministries, including the Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship, Buddhist Association, Korean Christian Fellowship, Muslim Students Association, Jewish Student Center and the Lutheran Campus Ministry, among others. The design of the meditation and prayer rooms allows for multiple use between groups while maintaining the appropriate symbolic relationships for each group. The program also calls for a multi-purpose room and office space for each group.

Temple Chai Synagogue - Long Grove, Illinois
This project included the addition of 2,500 square feet of space and the renovation of the 6,900 square feet of existing sanctuary space. The renovated sanctuary will feature a modular patter of wood panels, acoustical fabric panels, new south-facing windows and drywall arches. This modular pattern will accommodate the inclusion of numbers memorial boards and bookshelves. This project will also include new carpeting and lighting and a new ceiling.
